Point Briefing

To create a Point Briefing:

 1.  Hover over the Briefing menu item.
 2.  Select Point Briefing.
The briefing definition form opens.
 3.  Fill in the form.
 4.  Click Submit.
The PIB Result opens (refer to PIB Result).

Element Description

Validity

Enter start and end date and time in UTC Coordinated Universal Time (From, To).

The PIB will include all messages that are valid or relevant during this time range.

Flight Level

Enter a First Upper and First Lower Flight Level.

If you craete a PIB based on an FPL Flight Plan Message message, the First Upper Flight Level is taken from this FPL message:

  • The system searches for the highest value in the field Altitude/Level and in the field Route of the FPL message.
  • The system adds the constant value Additional Flight Level (default: 40) to the highest value found in the FPL message.
  • The system enters the result in the field First Upper Flight Level.

You can specify Additional Flight Level in User Preferences > Briefing (refer to User Preferences).

Message Type

Select the message types to be included in the PIB.

You must select at least the one message type.

Flight Rules

Select the flight rules.

Scope

Select the types of NOTAM Notice to airmen that are included in the bulletin.

Purpose

Select the purpose. The purpose restricts the types of NOTAM that are listed in the PIB.

Subject Code

You can include and exclude NOTAMs with a certain subject code.

INFO  To disable this feature, leave the list Codes empty.

To include/exclude a subject code:

 1.  Select Include or Exclude.
 2.  Enter a subject Code.
 3.  Click .
Your input is added to the list Codes.

To remove a code:

 1.  Select it from the list.
 2.  Click .

Points

You must enter at least one point with radius. The PIB will include all messages that intersect with the specified circle.

To add an point:

 1.  Enter the Identifier. You can enter
 2.  Enter Radius in nautical miles.
 3.  Click .
The point is added to the list.

To remove a point:

 1.  Select it from the list.
 2.  Click Delete.
