REMOTELY PILOTED AIRCRAFT SYSTEM (RPAS)/DRONE OPERATIONS WITHIN DOHA FIR

1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 As the number of Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS)/Drone operations are significantly high within Doha FIR , several measures have been taken to avoid any potential risks caused by the RPAS operations. Any RPAS within Qatar airspace are operating under a special operational approval provided by QCAA and in coordination with ATC.

2 RPAS ACTIVITY

2.1 Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)/Drone operations will take place within Doha FIR as follows.
2.2 Lateral limits: Doha FIR, excluding circles of 4.5 NM radius centered on each aerodrome.
2.3 Vertical limits: Up to 400 FT AGL.
2.4 Advisory measures: Pilots to EXER CTN.
2.5 Authority responsible for the INFO:
  1. Pre-flight contact - Doha TWR: +974 4465 6663
  2. In-flight contact - Doha TWR: 118.9 MHz (or 119.025 MHz)
2.6 Remarks: H24 and applicable over land only.

3 RPAS OPERATIONS REQUIREMENTS

3.1 RPAS operators who intend to conduct RPAS activity in Doha FIR, shall ensure to submit their request to the QCAA ATS Authorities to obtain permission. All requests shall be submitted through https://www.caa.gov.qa/en/RPAS only.

4 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

4.1 For RPAS related information, aircraft operators may coordinate with ATC whenever and if required.
4.2 RPAS related post-flight observations/reports can be submitted to rpas.ops@caa.gov.qa

5 VALIDITY

5.1 Valid until: 02 OCT 2024.
