Create FPL

There are many ways to create an FPL Flight Plan Message in CADAS-ATS Pilot Portal:

When you create an FPL, the form Flight Plan Message (FPL) opens:

 1.  Enter the necessary data into form (refer to FPL Form Fields).

INFO  The FPL form offers input assistance (refer to Input Assistance).

 2.  Click Submit.
The FPL proposal is submitted. You can now see the status of the FPL on the page Active Flights (refer to Active Flights).

INFO  This form is also used for CHG Change Message and DLA Delay Message messages. Data of the former message is automatically filled into the FPL form.

Command Description

Load

You can load template data to the form. For details refer to Store and Load Template Data.

Store

You can save the data you have entered in the form as a template. For details refer to Store and Load Template Data.

PIB

To create a PIB Pre-Flight Information Bulletin based on the FPL:

 1.  Move the mouse pointer over the icon PIB.
A sub-menu opens.
 2.  Select the briefing type.
The Briefing Definition form opens in a new window. The fields are filled with the data from the selected entry (refer to Briefing).

Airc. Data

To add aircraft data to the FPL:

 1.  Click Airc. Data.
The window Load Aircraft Data opens.
 2.  Select Show own records, Show group records or Show all records.
 3.  Select the aircraft data to be used.
 4.  Click Load.
The data is added to the form.

FPL to Route

Click to show the FPL in the map. You can then edit the route in the map.

Text to FPL

To import an FPL from ICAO International Civil Aviation Organization text format:

 1.  Click Text to FPL.
The window Import FPL from ICAO text format opens.
 2.  Copy the FPL in ICAO text format into the field.
 3.  Click Validate.
If the FPL is valid, it is imported and the data is added to the FPL form.
If the FPL is not valid, the system shows the errors.

Reset

Clear all fields.

INFO  This also includes data that was loaded from a template. The template is not changed.

Submit

Send the proposal message.

The message is added to the AFD Active Flight Database of CADAS-ATS as proposed FPL (or related) message and can be operated via the CADAS-ATS Center Terminal.

Field Description

Additional Distribution AFTN Addresses

Click the arrow to show the field. Enter additional addressees into the field.

INFO  The FPL is only sent to the addressees after the proposal was approved by an operator of the CADAS-ATS Center Terminal.

10 Equipment

You can enter the values or click the tool icon to use the input assistance (refer to Tool Icon).

Default value: N.

Route

Enter the flight route. You can also enter DCT (direct flight).

If you use the Visual Flight Planning, the route is automatically entered to the field (refer to Visual Flight Planning).

INFO  The system does a syntax check on your input.

18 Other Information

You can enter the values or use the input assistance.

To use the input assistance:

 1.  Click the icon .
 2.  Click Add Item.
 3.  Select the type of the element from the drop-down list.
 4.  Enter or select the values. The available values depend on the element type.
 5.  Click Set.
The item is added to the field 18 Other Information.
 6.  To add more items, repeat the steps 2 to 5.
 7.  To remove an item, click the icon
 8.  Click Close.

To remove an item, click the icon next to the item.

To reset the field to the value before you opened the input assistance, click Reset.

To remove all values, click Clear.

19 Supplementary information

Click the arrow to show the fields.

Select and enter supplementary information.
